Terms and privacy
Oraclerium is a game in pre-alpha. By creating an account or playing, you agree to the terms below.
Last updated October 2026.
It is pre-alpha
- The game is unfinished. Features, balance and the world change often and without notice.
- Characters, items, credits and accounts may be reset or deleted at any time, including in full wipes.
- Servers can go down or be taken offline, temporarily or for good.
- Nothing in the game has real-world value, and nothing you earn in it can be exchanged for money.
Your account
- One person per account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Pick a name that is not offensive, impersonating someone, or advertising. I can rename or remove accounts that break this.
- Use an email address you can receive mail at. It is used to confirm your account and to let you reset your password.
Playing fair
- No cheats, bots, exploits, or tampering with the client, the launcher, the servers or other players' connections.
- No harassment, hate speech, threats, or sharing other people's personal information in chat.
- If you find a bug or an exploit, report it instead of using it.
- I may warn, suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, at my discretion.
The game and its content
The game, its code, art, world and text belong to its developer. You can stream, record and share footage of it. You may not copy, extract or redistribute its files, or run your own servers for it. Third-party libraries in the game are used under their own licenses, listed on the third-party notices page.
No warranty
The game is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for lost progress, downtime, or any damage arising from playing it.
Privacy
Only what the game and the site need is kept, nothing more:
- Your account: the account name you choose, your email address, and your password, stored only as a salted Argon2 hash. The password itself is never seen or kept.
- Your email: used to sign in, to confirm your account and to send password reset links. It is never used for newsletters or shared. Account mail is delivered through Brevo, an email provider.
- Google sign-in: if you use it, Google shares your email address and an account ID, which links your Google account to yours here. Your Google password and anything else in your Google account stay with Google.
- Bot checks: sign-up, password resets and repeated sign-in attempts are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may look at your browser and connection to tell people from bots.
- Your character: position, health, skills, credits, items and when you last played.
- Sessions: a sign-in cookie keeps you signed in on the site; the launcher keeps a sign-in token on your computer. Signing out everywhere ends both.
- Connection data: IP addresses may appear in server logs, kept short-term for security and to fix problems.
- On your device: game settings (view distance, mouse sensitivity and so on) are saved in a settings file in the game folder. They never leave your device.
Chat is relayed to the players online and kept for a while for moderation. There are no ads, analytics or tracking cookies. Your data is never sold, and it is shared only with the services named above (Brevo for mail, Cloudflare for bot checks, Google if you choose Google sign-in). Some of them are based outside the EU or process data there, under the usual EU safeguards.
Why it is kept, and for how long
- Account, email and character: to run the game for you (the agreement between us). Kept until you delete your account.
- Server logs with IP addresses: to keep the servers secure and to fix problems (my legitimate interest). Kept for a short time and then removed.
- Chat: kept briefly so that reports can be checked, then removed.
Your rights
I am the controller of this data. You can ask me for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it, and you can delete your account yourself on the Account page. You can also object to how it is used. If you think I handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se).
